Letters to the INS - Kate Millett - feminist

Feminist writer and activist Kate Millett is best known for her 1970 book Sexual Politics, which critiqued sexism in literature. She was an old friend of Yoko's in 1972.

"What makes Yoko Ono and John Lennon so crucial to our contemporary culture is their refusal to live only in the world of art," Millett wrote. "Instead, they have reintegrated art with the social and political facets of life and offered us something like moral leadership with their committed pacifism. Using all the resources of their prestige and popularity, they have unceasingly protested the crimes of humanity upon itself."
